First look vs. no first look? This might be one of my favorite topics about wedding days because every couple is different on what they want and it’s so fun! Whether you choose to have a first look or not, I promise that the first glance between the two of you is going to be beyond perfect either way. To help you out, I have put together a few reasons why you should and shouldn’t do a first look. Let’s get into it!
Reasons to Do a First Look
You Want an Intimate and Private Moment
First looks are for couples who want a more intimate and private moment amongst themselves before saying yes to forever.
You want to get all the major photo parts done before you walk down the aisle
Seeing one another before saying “I do” also allow you to get a bunch of photos done before the ceremony. This way you can enjoy more of the cocktail hour with family and friends or more photos with just the two of you.
Why You Wouldn’t Want to Do a First Look
The First Look down the Aisle is Iconic
We cannot ignore the fact that the first look down the aisle is ICONIC. It’s such a moment- so raw, real, and full of so many emotions. Not to mention you will be sharing that moment with all your friends and family.
You Don’t Mind Missing Cocktail hour
If you decide to wait until walking down the aisle for the first look a majority of your photos will be done after your ceremony. This can take anywhere from an hour to a half hour as you will most likely be doing photos with family, bridal party and just the two of you. But on the plus side, these images will be your very first photos as a married couple.
