Wedding Getting Ready Tips & Tricks
The morning of a wedding day can easily become overwhelming, so to help you prepare I have put together a few getting ready tips that will help set your big day up for success so that you can be as present as possible and get the most out of your photos.
1. Keep Wedding Details Easily Accessible
Having all of your key essentials in one place and putting them in a box or a designated area will help save time and stress when capturing your detail shots. Below I have listed some of my favorite flat lay ideas:
-invitation suites
-vow books
-wedding bands
-engagement ring
-ring box
-ribbon
-loose florals
-bouquet
-wedding attire (dress, suit, wedding shoes
-accessories (jewelry, veil, watch, cuff links, tie, lapel pin, hair piece, etc)
-perfume
2. Lots of Natural Light
When getting ready chose a room that has soft, natural light pouring in. Having a natural well lit room will help capture glowing skin tones instead of yellow tones caused by over head lighting
3. Cleanliness
Keeping your getting ready space clutter free and tidy will make for more aesthetically pleasing getting ready shots and keep the focus on the emotion, the moment, and the people in the photos rather than on the curling irons, solo cups, dress steamers, and all the other distracting things that can appear in the background.
Lastly have fun! All of your hard work and planning has paid off. it’s time to allow yourself to be fully present and enjoy this special day!
